Breakfast Rush At Lita’s

1 calm morning Lita Kino walked down the stairs of the building that she owned to her restaurant, Lita lived upstairs in a 2 bedroom apartment and changed the sign so that it read: open.

Lita Kino’s only employee, Ken Bradford was sweeping the floor of the restaurant’s dining room as Lita switched the sign.

“Morning Miss Kino!” Ken said giving his boss his usual friendly greeting as a car pulled up in a parking space.

“Oh no just what I need,” Lita groaned. “A visit from Melvin, Molly, and their baby boy Mathew!”

“Hi there Lita haven’t seen you for a while.” Molly Baker Umino said as Lita placed a high chair at a booth for 1-year-old Mathew Umino.

“What’ll it be?” Ken Bradford asked.

“Molly and I will each have an order of waffles with prunes.” Melvin said to Ken.

“And Matt will have a bowl of banana purée.” Molly said.

“In other words, baby food.” Lita sighed, the Umino family were her least favorite customers.

The Four Stanton Brothers

That very same day after the Umino family left Lita’s restaurant, another car, an orange mini van pulled into a parking space, 4 men, their 3 wives, their 4 boys, and 3 of the brothers had daughters.

The families came into the restaurant as Lita’s 5-year-old daughter Li came down to help her mother with the family business.

"Oto-chan, Onii-chan, you’re back!” the little girl in a pink shirt and a black skirt ran up to the people she knew as “Daddy” and “Big Brother.”

"Oka-chan, Imoto-chan, oh so wonderful to see you again!” the 7-year-old boy said addressing the people he knew as “Mom” and “Little Sister.”

Ken was wiping down a long rectangular table when the families came in.

"Li-chan, go easy on Kaji-chan!” Lita called to her daughter referring to the second-oldest brother, Katsuji Mori’s son who was also Katsuji.

Katsuji Stanton looked at Lita Kino who was a single mother with only 1 child.

Why does the owner of my favorite eatery look so familiar to me? The older Katsuji thought.

“Why do those 2 get so close with the family nicknames around here?” the youngest Stanton brother, Keiichi who had married Amy Mizuno and they had a 7-year-old son also named Keiichi and a 5-year-old daughter named Amy Mai.

“Because Keiichi,” the older Katsuji told his youngest brother. “My wife died giving birth to Kaji and when I met Lita down here at her restaurant Lita felt connected to him, Lita wasn’t married when she’d had her daughter, so she was a single mother with a newborn daughter and I was a widower with a 2-year-old son at the time."

“I see.” Keiichi said as his son ran over to him.

“Kechi what did I tell you about running around in the restaurant?” Amy scolded her son.

“Sorry Mom.” The 7-year-old Keiichi said looking at his father the older Keiichi as a carriage pulled up in front of the restaurant.

“That must be Neo Queen Serenity, King Darien, and Princesses Rini and Riri.” Lita said hurrying to prepare a special table for the Royal Family of Crystal Tokyo.

The Royal Family

“Hello Lita!” Neo Queen Serenity said as the older Masaya Mori gave his brunette nephew some quarters for the claw machine in Lita’s restaurant.

“Hello My Queen!” Lita called putting away the ice cream sandwiches so they would not melt in the summer sun as Neo Queen Serenity turned to the older unmarried Katsuji to speak to him.

“How long has Kaji been playing the prize grabber machine, he looks really good at it.” Neo Queen Serenity whispered to the older Katsuji.

“My son has been playing the prize grabber machine for 3 years,” Katsuji whispered back to the queen. “And he wins every single time he plays.”

“What does your son do with his winnings?” Amy, Raye, and Mina all asked.

“Kaji gives the prizes to other children.” Kaji’s father answered.

“Here Small Lady,” Kaji said to Princess Rini handing her a plush Sailor Moon doll. “I won this for you.”

“Thank you!” Princess Rini exclaimed sitting down with her mother, father, and 2-year-old baby sister.

“What shall your pleasure be?” Lita asked.

“I want a strawberry yogurt cup, and get a cup of milk for Riri, Darien and I are trying to wean her off of her baby bottle.” Neo Queen Serenity said ordering for herself and their youngest daughter.

“I’d like 2 eggs over easy with a side of bacon.” King Darien ordered.

“And for Small Lady?” Lita asked Princess Rini.

“Waffles with both blueberries and strawberries on them.” Princess Rini answered.

“Mixed berry waffles,” Lita said. “Good choice.”

Lita and Ken both went around asking the other diners what they’d like to eat.

“Very good,” Lita said after taking Keiichi’s order. “Ken will be around with your orders after I am finished cooking the food.”

A Gift From Kaji

Kaji wasn’t sitting with his father yet because he had wrapped another prize in his Uncle Kazuyuki’s do rag, Kazuyuki Stanton rode a motorcycle so the lime green do rag was part of his look as was all the leather he always wore.

“Li, I’ve got a gift for you.” The 7-year-old Katsuji said to the owner’s 5-year-old daughter.

Little Li Kino’s full name was Lita like her mother’s but everyone called her Li.

Li Kino unwrapped Kaji’s uncle’s lime green do rag and found a brown plush pony with a black mane and tail.

“Did you win this stuffed pony just for me?” Li asked hugging the stuffed pony that Kaji had given to her.

“I really wish you were my birth little sister, that was the only thing in life I’ve ever wanted a little sister to love and care for.” Kaji said to Li.

“Now I really wish you were my big brother Kaji.” Li said to Kaji as Lita and Katsuji listened to their children’s conversation before Katsuji made his confession to Lita.

“Lita my darling my name isn’t really Katsuji,” Katsuji finally told Lita. “My name is actually… Nephlite.” Nephlite confessed to Lita.

“Katsuji you… are Nephlite?” Lita asked speechless.

The Princess And The General

“Katsuji you… are Nephlite?” Lita asked speechless.

“Yes My Princess of the noble planet Jupiter,” Nephlite confessed to Lita. “I am your Lord Nephlite.”

“And all of your brothers are really…” Lita began seeing her 1 true love back in his general’s uniform.

“Kazuyuki is really Malachite and he married Princess Mina of Venus, Masaya is really Jedite and he married Princess Raye of Mars, and finally our youngest brother Keiichi is really Zoisite and he married Princess Amy of Mercury.” Nephlite admitted to Lita who was now Princess Lita of Jupiter.

“I see, but what happened to you, you still look like you had after Queen Beryl got a hold of you.” Princess Lita of Jupiter said to Nephlite.

The other princesses began dancing with their generals as their children looked embarrassedly at them.

While Nephlite was dancing with Princess Jupiter he cleared his throat and offered her a pink rose that was made out of pure Jupiterian Crystal as he asked his princess, “Will you marry me?”

Princess Lita took her general’s gift.

“The royal marriage custom of the planet Jupiter,” Princess Lita exclaimed. “Oh Nephlite of course I shall marry you!”

Princess Jupiter’s Answer

“What did she say?” Jedite asked.

“Princess Lita said ‘Yes,’ yes!” Nephlite shouted excited that he was getting married to the woman that he truly loved.

“When is the wedding between you and your princess, Nephlite?” Zoisite gushed, Jedite, Nephlite, and Malachite were all visiting Doctors Amy and Zoisite at their house.

“Lita said in 1 month.” Nephlite said.

“There is so much to do,” Malachite said in a panic. “I mean you have to buy your wedding kimono, Lita has to buy her wedding kimono, you’ll need a couple of ushers, a ring bearer, Lita needs a flower girl, you will need groom’s men, she’ll need bride’s maids, you guys’ll need a Maid of Honor, best man, musicians, a lot of flowers, someone will need to bake the wedding cake, I mean, Lita cannot bake her own wedding cake, and then you’ve got the matters concerning your honeymoon, and then the matters of Lita adopting your son and you adopting Lita’s daughter.”

“Malachite I get the picture,” Nephlite said. “Both Lita and I have a lot to do like finding a minister etcetera in preparation for our wedding.”

“Ah but Nephlite,” Jedite asked. “Who is going to be your Maid of Honor and your Best Man?”

“You mean Matron of Honor and Best Man Jedite,” Nephlite laughed. “I think I will give the Shields family a call, Zoisite may I use your telephone?”

“My telephone is in the kitchen.” Zoisite answered Nephlite as Nephlite went into Zoisite’s kitchen to call Neo Queen Serenity.

Wedding Apparel Shopping

“I’m totally serious Amy,” Lita said to Amy as they left yet another bridal shop with Li and Amy Mai by their sides. “There is no way I’m going to find the gown of my dreams for my own wedding day, oh this is a disaster!”

“Don’t say that Lita,” Amy said, “So what if none of the bridal shops carry your desired wedding gown, it’s not the end of world or anything.”

“You don’t get it Amy,” Lita said. “I want to look my best for Nephlite.”

“But you will look your best for Nephlite even if you wear a tank top and cargo shorts and a pair of sandals.” Amy said to her friend.

A few days later, Lita and Nephlite got all of their wedding preparations done and tonight was the night of the rehearsal dinner.

“Jedite come on, you aren’t a pig you weren’t raised in a barn so do not eat like a pig!” Nephlite scolded his friend.

“Yeah,” Lita agreed. “Eat like a proper gentleman.”

“Could somebody please pass the mashed potatoes?” Zoisite asked politely, He may have been the youngest but Zoisite was the most polite and the most proper out of all the 4 former generals.

Amy smiled at her husband proudly.

“Nicely done Zoisite!” Lita said praising Zoisite for his excellent manners passing him bowl of mashed potatoes.

Zoisite put a gentleman’s portion of mashed potatoes onto his plate.

“I thank you kindly Miss Kino.” Zoisite said politely to Lita.

“You are most welcome Zoisite.” Lita said to Zoisite.

“Dad may I please spend the night and Miss Lita’s tonight?” Kaji whose real name was Nontronite asked his father, Nephlite.

“No you may not.” Nephlite answered his son sternly.

“But why not, tonight isn’t a school night.” Nontronite protested.

“Because you didn’t bring any pajamas with you and most importantly because I said so.” Nephlite answered Nontronite furiously and Nontronite didn’t say another word about the subject.

The Wedding Day

The next day was Lita and Nephlite’s wedding Nephlite was sweating like crazy because he was so nervous.

“I don’t know about this,” Nephlite said fooling around with his tie. “I mean marriage is a lifetime commitment!”

“That is what we all said when we wed our wives.” Jedite laughed.

“You mean to tell me that all of you guys were as nervous as I am when you got married?” Nephlite asked.

“Nervous heck Darien…” Jedite began.

“Jedite!” Darien scolded.

“Sorry My King.” Jedite said to King Darien.

Lita came out and walked down the aisle in a long flowing bridal gown that reached all the way down to the floor of the wedding chapel.

“Do you Nephlite take this woman as your lawful wedded wife to have and to hold in sickness and in heath so long as you both shall live?” the minister asked.

“I do.” Nephlite answered.

“Do you Lita take this man as your lawful wedded husband to have and to hold in sickness and in heath so long as you both shall live?” the minister asked.

“I do.” Lita answered.

“I now pronounce you husband and wife, Nephlite you may now kiss your bride.” the minister said.

Nephlite kissed Lita and everyone began to celebrate.

The happy couple went on a cruise around the world and came back with lots of gifts for their families and friends.

Back To School Shopping

July blew into August as the princess and her royal court went with Neo Queen Serenity school shopping for their school supplies.

They went to a department store and that reminded the queen that she was out of thread for Raye’s new gown.

“Raye has a show tonight in the court chambers Rini,” Neo Queen Serenity said to her oldest daughter. “I would like it if you and your friends continued shopping for your school supplies while Riri and I go to the sewing department to purchase some red silk thread for Rayla’s mother’s new gown.”

“Okay Mommy.” Princess Rini said to her mother.

“Li and I need new school uniforms.” Nontronite said.

“Why, you guys don’t go to school with Mai, Rini, and me.” Zinnwaldite disagreed.

“We are the new transfer students into your kindergarten class.” Li laughed.

“Mai hasn’t awakened her true power, ha, ha, ha!” laughed a familiar voice from behind them.

“Oh great just what I need,” Amy Mai groaned. “Another insult from neighborhood nuisance and all-around elementary school 5th grade bully, Yaron Kou, son of Michelle and Yaten Kou!”

Yaron Kou was the son of a famous musician and a famous painter.

“Leave my little sister alone Yaron!” Zinnwaldite shouted at Yaron Kou upon behalf of his 5-year-old sister.

“Zinn, I’ll take it from here.” Said another familiar voice.

Mai’s Crush Tristan Kou

“Tristan.” Amy Mai said.

Tristan, Saxon, and Yaron Kou were all cousins and 11-years-old.

Amy Mai was lost for words when she saw Trista and Taiki’s only son defending her from the bully with a bad attitude.

“Uh-oh, Mai and Tristan sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Mai with the baby carriage!” Yaron Kou taunted Amy Mai some more.

“You’d better quit that right now Kou!” Zinnwaldite yelled at Yaron Kou.

“Step off Geek!” Yaron Kou said pushing Zinnwaldite down and making him lose his glasses.

Zinnwaldite got to his feet and put his glasses back on.

“Geek? Geek! Nobody calls me a geek and gets away with it! Nobody you hear me?” Zinnwaldite yelled at Yaron furiously.

“Big brother, be careful!” Amy Mai called out to her older brother Zinnwaldite.

“It’s okay Mai,” Zinnwaldite called back to Amy Mai. “Your big brother knows how to handle… ah!”

“Zinnwaldite!” Amy Mai called.

From out of nowhere, Yaron Kou hit Zinnwaldite with his Star Critical Cutter attack and wounded him seriously.

“Geek that was a demonstration of my power!” Yaron Kou said walking away victoriously.

“Coward! Come back here!” Nontronite commanded.

Amy Mai began to cry at her older brother’s side.

“I’m so sorry for what happened to your older brother Mai,” Tristan Kou said to Amy Mai gently. “For you see, Saxon and I are nothing like our cousin, Yaron.”

“Get back here if you know what’s good for you!” Jarosite and Mayenite shouted with a vengeance.

“Maybe there is something I can do,” Tristan said to the others. “Star Soothing Healing!”

Zinnwaldite quickly came to and got off the ground again, “Thank you Tristan,” he said. “Thank you very much.”

“Don’t mention it Zinn.” Tristan said to Zinnwaldite as Neo Queen Serenity returned with Princess Riri sitting in the baby seat in the shopping cart.

“Did you all get what you needed for school?” Neo Queen Serenity asked the 9 children.

“Zinnwaldite got stunned My Queen,” Tristan Kou explained to Neo Queen Serenity. “But I came to the rescue and healed him.”

“I don’t know what we would ever do without you here,” Neo Queen Serenity said pulling out her Crescent Moon Wand an item that she hadn’t used for a really long time and tapped Tristan Kou on the shoulder. “I dub thee Sir Tristan Kou The Just.”

“Oh thank you My Queen,” Sir Tristan said honored to have been knighted by the queen. “This is indeed a really great honor.” Sir Tristan went off to find his parents famous Crystal Tokyo Fashion Designer, Lady Trista Kou, and famous Crystal Tokyo Musician Sir Taiki Kou.

A Celebratory Dinner

“Mama, Papa, I got knighted by Neo Queen Serenity herself today at the department store!” Tristan Kou said as his mother took the red gown she had finished for the royal singer, Raye off of the dress maker’s dummy.

“Well then,” Taiki Kou said to his son. “This calls for a celebratory dinner!”

“I’ll go ask Neo Queen Serenity if she knows of any good places to eat around Crystal Tokyo while I take this gown to Raye’s chambers.” Lady Trista said to Sir Taiki and Sir Tristan.

Over at Lita’s Restaurant, Lita was flooded with customers, she had gotten herself a new employee at her restaurant her very own husband Nephlite.

“What may I get for you Mr. Okasono?” Nephlite asked a customer sitting in a booth in a corner of the restaurant.

“A tender juicy portabella steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and steamed broccoli on the side.” The customer answered Nephlite.

“We’re all out of portabella mushrooms Nephlite!” Lita called from the restaurant kitchen.

Back at the royal palace, Lady Trista had returned to her and Sir Taiki’s quarters.

“We’re going to Lita Kino’s tonight to celebrate our only son getting knighted!” Lady Trista exclaimed.

Back at Lita’s Restaurant, Nephlite could see that the customer was losing his patience with the waiter.

“Where is my order?” Mr. Okasono asked furiously as the Kou family came in.

“Like I’ve told you we’re all out of portabella mushrooms,” Nephlite shouted then lowered his voice down. “Might I suggest the number 46, that’s similar to what you want except it is made with shitake mushrooms instead of portabella mushrooms.”

“Sounds better than what I originally ordered.” Mr. Okasono said to Nephlite.

“Lita, 1 number 46 with a… drink please?” Nephlite asked.

“Root beer.” Mr. Okasono said to Nephlite.

“With a root beer!” Nephlite repeated as the Kou family sat down at a table.

Dino Macaroni

“Here is your order Mr. Okasono.” Nephlite said serving Mr. Okasono the shitake steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and steamed broccoli on the side with his root beer.

Ken Bradford was now working the night shift at Lita’s Restaurant so he was cooking the food while Lita took orders.

“Good evening Trista,” Lita exclaimed. “I hear Tristan was knighted by Neo Queen Serenity, is that right!”

“That’s right Lita,” Lady Trista agreed. “He is now Sir Tristan Kou The Just, oh I am so proud of my boy!”

“May I take your order?” Lita asked Trista.

“Taiki and I are splitting a number 4.” Lady Trista answered.

“The vegetable manicotti with garlic sauce and now tell me, what would you like to drink?” Lita asked.

“Trista and I each want a green tea.” Sir Taiki answered as Lita jotted it down.

“And for the young knight, we have dinosaur macaroni on the children’s menu, would you like that?” Lita recommended.

“Dinosaur macaroni?” Sir Tristan asked thinking it sounded a little bit strange.

“Mac & cheese in the shape of dinosaurs, Tristan.” Sir Taiki explained to his son who was now understanding what Lita meant.

“Sure, I’ll have some Dino macaroni & cheese with a child’s sized cup of green tea.” Sir Tristan ordered as Lita went back to the kitchen to tell Ken the Kou family’s orders.

Lita’s Announcement

After Lita had brought the Kou family their pasta orders, she had a very exciting announcement to make.

“Everyone,” she said. “I have decided to take out the bar section of my restaurant so as to prevent fights, but don’t worry, instead of battling over beer and sake, you will be fighting over desserts, that’s right, I am replacing the alcohol bar with a make your own dessert buffet!”

Everyone in Lita’s restaurant cheered when Lita finally made her announcement.

“But unfortunately, my dessert bar won’t arrive until next week.” Lita sighed dejectedly.

The diners all groaned, “Hey that’s not fair!” a 3-year-old girl shouted throwing a fit and embarrassing her mommy and daddy all at the same time.

“Lita Darling,” Nephlite whispered. “Without the new add-on now this is bad for business.”

“I know that Nephlite,” Lita whispered back. “But what should I do?”

Lita’s Grand Reopening

3 weeks later, Lita and Nephlite had put in the dessert bar where the old drinking bar used to be.

“This is terrific,” Nephlite was saying to Lita while Li and Nontronite were at school. “Now our customers can decide for themselves what to put on their ice cream or into their pudding.”

“Yes,” Lita agreed with her husband. “And with Amy’s daughter’s birthday coming up and her favorite food being sugarless apple pie…”

“Sugarless apple pie?” Nephlite asked interrupting Lita.

“Yes Nephlite, Zoisite is a dentist and he doesn’t want his children to eat sugary sweets.” Lita reminded Nephlite that Zoisite’s office was in the same hospital where King Darien Shields who was a doctor also and his own wife Amy Mizuno worked at.

That night was the grand reopening of Lita’s restaurant with the new dessert bar.

Amy Mai’s Birthday

August became September and upon the evening of September 10th, it was Amy Mai’s 6th birthday, she was now the same age as Rayla, Raye Hino’s youngest child and only daughter, as well as Princess Rini Shields, the oldest daughter of Neo Queen Serenity and King Darien Shields.

The restaurant’s lights were all turned off when Amy, Zoisite, Zinnwaldite, and Amy Mai all entered.

Ken Bradford flicked on the lights.

“Surprise! Happy birthday Amy Mai!” everyone shouted.

Rini’s blue haired friend could not believe her eyes, “I cannot believe it, who planned this!” Amy Mai exclaimed breathlessly.

“I did Sweetheart.” Zoisite said to his daughter.

“Hey Mai The Weak And Powerless!” said Yaron Kou said squirting Amy Mai with a water rifle and making her cry.

“Mommy, Yaron Kou got me all wet!” Amy Mai sobbed.

“Happy birthday Crybaby!” Yaron said taunting the defenseless girl.

“That is enough Yaron!” Michelle Kou scolded her 11-year-old son.

“But I was just giving Mai my birthday present.” Yaron protested.

“You had better apologize to Amy’s daughter right now Mister!” Yaten Kou scolded his only son.

“Sorry Little Miss Powerless!” Yaron said giving Amy Mai a bogus apology.

“I’ll show you powerless…” Mai stammered.

“Healer Star power!” Yaron said transforming into his feminine sailor soldier form.

“Mai no,” Zinnwaldite warned holding his sister down. “Your powers have not fully developed yet!”

“Let me go Zinn Yaron challenged me to this fight don’t you see I have to be the 1 to accept his challenge,” Amy Mai said fighting her way out of her older brother’s grasp and grabbing her power stick. “Mercury power!”

“I am Sailor Mini Star Healer, Sailor Mini Mercury have you accepted my challenge?” Sailor Mini Star Healer asked.

“Yes,” Sailor Mini Mercury said defiantly. “I have.”
